Our Story
Hi, I’m Dennis.
I come from a small town in Pennsylvania where I learned the value of earning from honest work. So, I started working as early as age 12. I was a janitor at my father’s company, worked in a restaurant at 16, and worked in a factory in my early 20s. In fact, it was this factory work that led me to my driving career. I hated factory work. My father, who knew my love of the open road, encouraged me to pursue a career on the road where I could be open and free.
My truck driving career began after I got my Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at the age of 22. I have been a professional truck driver now for 25 years. Within this period, I have done some local work and over-the-road (OTR) jobs too. However, I have been an independent driver for the last 10 years.
Being a truck driver means that you’re driving on the road for hours on end, away from home almost every day. I had scarcely any time to relax and bond with my family. I would return home exhausted.
The feeling of exhaustion was compounded by the realization that I still had to sort out receipts and keep my books in order. This put a strain on my marriage, which ended in a divorce. She was probably overwhelmed by having to assist me with the books and put up with the demanding nature of my job. This phase of my life revealed that even with honest work, you need some help getting things in order.
Following my divorce, I lived in my truck for some time, had to pay alimony, child support, and clear a lot of debt. I was still working tirelessly, and the books still needed to be sorted. Because of this, I started shopping around for accounting and bookkeeping services. I found offers ranging from $100-$500 a month. However, most of these offers included services that I did not really need. This highlighted a new problem – the lack of custom-made service and payment options.
I found my solution after I met my wonderful fiancée, Patrina. She’s from Thailand. Patrina had her share of life’s woes before we met. She lost her husband a year after their son was born. Consequently, she had worked on herself to become a strong woman who worked hard and long hours to provide for her son. She has become such a ray of light in my life. She has helped me with clarity and assistance in my personal and professional life. Patrina is a college graduate with computer skills and a bookkeeping certification. She’s a hard worker who is devoted to her son.
She offered to help me with my bookkeeping when I expressed my displeasure with doing it myself. Of course, I was skeptical about this, considering how this affected my last marriage. Thankfully, it turned out for the better. We sorted my books together for the first few times. Afterward, she willingly took it up completely. Then we started considering making it more serious as Patrina’s job was also taking up a lot of her time.
After some consideration, we realized there was a lack of resources for truck drivers. And what resources that were available had people running the company that had never worked in the trucking industry. So after much deliberation and trying to figure out how we could best serve the trucking industry, Keep Rollin’ On was created to provide tailored bookkeeping solely for truck drivers. With relevant truck driving experience and a bookkeeping certification, we have successfully created multiple packages for you to choose from. In addition, you do not have to worry about a blanket payment for unneeded services or divided attention from your service provider.
